Salem Institute of Rehabilitation (SIR) is the flagship project of National Charitable Trust (NCT) and the Trust’s very first initiative. Established with the vision of providing holistic rehabilitation and quality education, SIR is dedicated to empowering children with Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Cerebral Palsy to achieve their maximum potential and lead meaningful, independent lives.
At SIR, we believe that every child is unique. Our approach begins with a comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment conducted by a team of qualified professionals. This detailed evaluation helps us understand each child’s strengths, developmental needs, communication abilities, learning style, behaviour, and functional skills.
Based on the assessment, an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is designed exclusively for every child. The IEP outlines specific short-term and long-term goals, and the child’s progress is carefully monitored through monthly reviews to ensure continuous growth and effective intervention.

Hostel and Transportation Facilities
To support families from Salem and surrounding districts, the institute provides safe and comfortable hostel facilities for children who require residential care. The hostel offers a structured, caring environment where children continue to receive supervision, therapy, education, and life skills training beyond school hours.
We also provide transportation facilities with trained staff to ensure that children travel safely and comfortably between their homes and the institute.
Partnering with Families
We recognize that parents are the child’s first teachers. Therefore, we work closely with families through regular counselling sessions, parent training programmes, home programmes, and progress reviews, enabling them to actively participate in their child’s development.
